Elaine East

Elaine East joined the Oak Grove community as a kindergarten teacher in 2024.  She grew up in New Jersey, and has lived in Virginia before moving to Illinois with her family in 2011.  Elaine earned her bachelor's degree in English and Elementary Education from the College of William and Mary in 2002, her Reading Specialist master's degree from Rutgers in 2008, and her Educational Leadership master's degree from Northeastern Illinois University in 2018.  Over her career, she has taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades and has also served as a reading specialist and instructional coach.
